That's with just 1 GPU? Just saw your other post. Sli 1080. So we can't really make a good comparison bench because my score is higher but that's likely because I'm running Titans.

yeah did not raise voltage much 1050 10 1080 but it did change me to going from 2088 max to 2125 before throttle city kick in... my ambient 73 with ac with full +100mv temps shot up in fire strike ultra quickhit 84.. with +50mv was not so bad helped stable core a little and temp hit 69 max fire strike..
I did replace thermal paste was not to bad on mine but I used thermal grizzly about 5c drop.. kept backplate off though no real contact exept one little piece of thermal tape on little chip tthat hits backplate .. so I have my spot fan angled blowing on the back..seems to be a little cooler..
I am waiting on clu for shunt mod and water block also..any one done shunt mod ??any difference ??
Gaming I average witcher 3 4k maxed hairX4 60-68fps ...hairworks x8 51-59 after 30 minutes 67c 95 fan% think I saw 48 as a low..running 6700k 4.87

I was pretty surprised at the results. Needless to say after spending years on the intel extreme platform, it'll be main stream platforms for me from now on especially since the imposed two way sli limitation.

I have both a highly overclocked 6700K and 6950X system so I have no skin either way. Apart from very specific circumstances like trying to render a million blades of grass in Crysis 3 or off-loading Physx to the CPU, 90+% of games will run faster on the higher clocked 6700K. It will slowly move in favor of the higher core count CPU's as time goes by however.

Did you test in other games like GTA V? Your 6950x should beat out your 6700k.

Not likely. Again, my comparison of ROTR was running same resolution, same settings. So your result doesn't add much without knowing settings, resolution, etc.

I'll have my post up tonight or tomorrow comparing GTAV, among other things. Spoiler ahead, 6700k beats the 5960x in GTAV. Even with a 5% IPC improvement in Broadwell-E, the Skylake system would beat it.

DX12 does have an advantage in current titles, but it's within margin of error. I imagine that extreme based systems would trump mainstream systems in future titles. Especially titles that have been developed from the ground up to take advantage of DX12. However, right now, if you want the best gaming performance, Skylake is the way to go.

Tomb raider bench uses a preset resolution and settings.
