Not sure about his. But there is no VXAO in DX12. I ran all maxed, except no SSAA. Just SMAA. 2560x1440. SSAA 4x is ridiculous and would kill the GPUs before the CPU could even hope of becoming a bottleneck.
Also as a side note...VXAO in tomb raider (under DX11, of course) actually increases FPS in some scenes.
