Yeah, but they kinda told you that already if you've been following the SLI debacle this generation. Did you really buy 4 intending to use them in a single machine for graphical workloads or are you putting them in different machines/have a different (compute) workload in mind?

That's a shame. One of the reasons I don't do 4-way anymore and just stick to two and the HB bridge.

I may be able to justify buying one of these things, but I sure can't justify burning one up and having to pay for the second one out of pocket.

i have 4 way 1080 too. It will go 4 way SLI in the control panel, but will lock it to 2 way in anything but approved benchmarks.

i'm not planning on using 4 way. I was just doing this to benchmark and then move 2 to another PC.

Will you be sending the "defective" card back for an exchange? wink.gif

Really, was there any need for that comment, I have spent a lot of this system, so I do not tell me "$2500+ know what the game is about" if you would read my comment you might find out. Pascal was a skipping stone to Volta, which is why Volta has been moved forward, Pascal was never planned. Why would I want to spend $2500, for a new GPU to come out next year at $600, that will beat it in performance. Also, as stated by one of the members on here, we do not have any demanding games coming out this year (Battlefield 1 uses the same engine) even if you run 4K, you do not need to get Titan X SLI, you are just wasting performance.

There are many multiple GPU setups that are cheaper, while you get the same performance. Depending the games you play will determine if you like SLI, however getting one Titan X would be good, as it can get almost 4K 60 FPS with one GPU

It is your money, however considering we have Volta next year (with HBM2) and that being the main GPU that was planned and not the skipping stone generation, it just seems a waste to go SLI

I believe you should send me the 'bad' cards that don't overclock well. tongue.gif
