Could never get into it. My X34 does the job.

So has there been any conclusion on shunting yet? Would prefer not to burn it up lol, seems like vega going light layer on all 3 is the safest best so far, correct?

Why cant you install them without the backplate? I dont mind draining my loop 2 times only takes 5 mins to drain its a dual loop setup anyway.

I think Vega needs to show a detailed GPUz to make sure. I can show ya soldering mods that will do the same. but of course its harder to do.

Im pretty sure he's still throttling as I need to see the the gpuz after running a firestrike ultra run.

I'll have to check this out later. At first I thought it was a CPU bottleneck. I seem to feel a noticeable stuttering in benchmarks. I'm not sure of games yet, as I've only had about an hour to test the card this morning before work.

BS comment. Of course you can install without backplate. Its 99% optics only...
Yeah you can install the block with no backplate no problem, it's just pure aesthetics. Jayztwocents even had a full tutorial on the installation w/ no backplate with the 1080 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xBexZQ32Tnc&feature=shares

Yeah, I haven't read anything anywhere, nor do I see why a back plate would be NEEDED when it doesn't have a functional purpose other than protection (important in my case, with all of the crap stuffed in my NCase, I have a few bits mounted to my back plate, I ain't doin that to the PCB!). Maybe that is what was meant.

For you guys that have the EK block on the way, did any of you order back plates in the same order? Mine hasn't shipped and I did order a back plate at the same time. I just assumed they would ship together. If not, I may just put it in another rig, it isn't that hard to resist playing with it when aircooled, but if I had a block too, I might be stupid and deal with redoing a loop twice.

Also, that stutter thread just posted is the first I heard of 10 series/Titan XP issues, not a pleasant read, but I can't imagine that NVidia won't get this sorted as quick as they can if it is affecting a significant group of users. It looks like they have already acknowledged it and have deployed a hotfix, it just wasn't effective. That is still good news IMHO, they acknowledge the issueand have people assigned to work on it, normally the hardest part.
