The difference in single vs SLI of the 1080 is 85 vs 100 FPS on 1440 and 35 vs 40 FPS in 5K. Both cards hover at about 40-45% usage. Occasionally at 5K one card jumps to 95% but the other one dips to 30%. I did not have a chance to test TitanX SLI, but if it does not scale on 1080, it does not scale on TitanXP either.

I'd never buy a second $1200 card for The Division to get 26% scaling... that using $300 out of $1200 if you have a 5K screen and $200 out of $1200 is you have a 1440.

But, if one has endless pit of cash, why not. I'd buy 2 in that case. Unfortunately I still work for my money so can't be totally unreasonable.

Really? 17%-26%? I think you may need to see if there's something wrong on your end.

Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)

Looks like 57% to me. This is with 1080's mind you, but I don't expect the scaling to be any different on the titan xp. Same settings, same resolution. One card vs two. No one in their right mind would ever argue getting a top end gpu with a top end display as a value proposition.

At what exact settings you ran that? What driver and what card settings and a CPU?

Regarding 1 vs2, I don't say. smile.gif Just that it doesn't scale really well from my experience. Ahh, is it maybe that I use HTFS, PCSS and VXAO?

Go look up a guy called "thirty IR" on youtube, he did 4K testing with SLI TITAN XP's in like FIFTEEN different games and EVERY single game had well over 60fps minimum's! In witcher 3 maxed out with hairworks etc.. he got average of 86fps iirc, minimum's were like 75fps and max was ~96fps. My 2nd card comes tomorrow so i'll confirm it for you but i'm EXTREMELY confident that it'll easily pass 60fps constant even for minimum fps.

2) Yes. Same thing.

3) idk about sanding, the only working mod i've seen done to these is with a Dremel to saw off the pointed bits. It did work for the record. However if kinda looks fugly in my opinion...just saying. I'm not a fan of the EVGA HB bridge either though, really hoping the EK HB bridge comes out end of August like they told us it would; i really wanna see what it looks like...

Thank you very much. It was funny you mentioned that "thirty IR", I happened to find that yesterday and watched it. What I love about the Titan XP is that in games that I have tested that don't support SLI like Doom it tears that game apart. I have everything set to max and never dips below 60fps at 4k. Games like Witcher 3, even without hairworks and no AA, I get dips to the low 50's in combat. I know when I get my water blocks I can push the card further, but I doubt they can be pushed far enough were a single Titan XP can do Witcher 3 with Hairworks and AA at 60fps. The game is just too demanding with all that stuff. But watching that video and it seems like having 2 Titan's would be the ticket for me.

I definitely still look forward to your testing. I just ordered my 2nd card and ordered a SLI bridge as well. I might have my card on Wednesday. Still need to be an order in for a 2nd water block, but will wait till the back plates are available as well before putting them under water. I will be testing on air for a few weeks.

Thanks. That looks impressive. And that is with every possible setting set to the max as well? The highest shadow setting, highest AA setting etc?

How would using the gameworks features affect scaling? That doesn't make any sense. Same settings with the only variable being one or two cards as the only difference. Also, 1 vs 2, you don't say? What? That's what sli is, that's what scaling is referring to.

3440x1440, ultra preset, 6700k.

Something is seriously wrong in my setup for some reason. Put in my 2nd TITAN X and i'm getting nearly NO improvement over a single card in every game i try. In witcher 3 at 3440x1440 with ultra settings and hairworks on with 4x AA etc.. i was getting average of ~65-70fps on one TITAN X. And now with TWO of them i'm barely getting ~70-75fps. Fallout 4 is a similar story, so are other games. I tried using two flex bridges thinking that maybe not having the HB bridge had something to do with it (i doubted it but you never know) and still no change.

Anyone else having this? Anyone know a fix? I tried disabling and re-enabling SLI with no luck, it doesn't make sense because in witcher 3 i'm getting ~75% usage on both cards, which should be vastly outperforming 100% usage on one card. In fallout i'm only getting ~55-60% on each card but my fps seems even LOWER than it was with just a single card...

Actually, many features in games directly affect scaling. It is really important how each feature works, because many features can reduce scaling. The SLI scaling works in a way that it AFRs what would otherwise do a single card. Games see SLI as a single GPU, but you can specifically code your game that way that you enable or disable scaling, unintentionally. Many rendering features are designed in such a way that reduces scaling or even completely disables it (specifically many post processing algorithms that rely on prev-frame) and that's why some game engines will never support it and some need specific effects disabled for it to work.

I can't test 21:9 atm, but my GPU usage is at 81% - running 3840x2160, Ultra (no custom), 4,45GHz 5960X, 2,8GHz DDR4@1T CL15, 1080 SLI @ 2114/5524. The framerates are exaclty around 45 and CPU usage is 24% for SLI.

It seems that Fallout 4 does not support SLI correctly
https://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/NVIDIA/GeForce_GTX_1080_SLI/11.html

. What other games you have tested? There is like 30% of popular AAA games that don't support SLI.
