I had microstutter on my last setup and I have a pretty fast computer. It was 8x8 but that shouldn't matter as the cards dont come close to saturating such a config yet. The problem is just the setup itself, not the other parts of the computer. You generally dont notice you have it till you pull a card out and just notice how much smoother it seems. I guess maybe you just have to be sensitive to stutter or framerates though, which I am very much. So ya either notice it or you dont. The weird part is that reviews with FCAT dont seem to show these inconsistencies, yet they are so clearly there. Maybe Nvidia is just playing dirty again given that they make FCAT...

Considering I play with sli disable for some of my fps games that don't support sli, I'm using both single card and sli setup on a daily basis. Yet can't notice any microstutter when playing bf4 in sli vs. Playing planet side 2 with a single gpu. I can see the microstutter even in the recorded video someone posted a few pages back. But I don't see it when gaming on my computer. Because again I think the higher the refresh rate and subsequent fps, the lower the chance of visible microstutter. Some games also smooth out with more cores/threads. For example in black ops 3 and HT disabled, on a 5960x, I'd get some microstutter during panning/scanning. I attribute that to data streaming from the ssd, but nonetheless enabling HyperThreading eliminated the greater majority of even that microstutter. So I think a lot of perceived microstutter is dependent on your gaming rig, and your monitor. And if you're solidly pushing high enough fps, then microstutter becomes a none issue.

I can't quite tell if you're referencing a mic drop or throwing in the towel. Both of which mean completely different things. Haha.

I'm on a i7-6900k OC on a ROG Strix x99 (16/16), my boot drive is a Samsung 950 NVMe 512GB, and my games are stored on 3x Samsung 850 512GB in a RAID0. RAM I have are 3000mhz and HB bridge. Like I said before, I have to really sit there and look for it, but it does happen. But i don't worry about it

As was mentioned before in this thread, how problematic it is depends on your sensitivity of varying frame times. Annoyingly I'm quite sensitive to frame rate issues. frown.gif

Log into a game with SLI and turn the camera very slowly around, walk around and pay attention to every corner, how movement behaves, how smooth or not smooth the panning, turning etc everything is.

Then do the same with single GPU.

Let's say both setups would run with 200 fps, Gsync etc. The single GPU solution will feel smoother.

Then saying both are the same is denial smile.gif

Just checked with GPU-Z and your right it currently tops out at 1.06v so plenty more voltage to come even without modding the bios.

Best is yet to come!

eh, IDK if you would notice a serious difference at 200 fps. The frame times are a max of 5 milliseconds apart then, which is pretty short. I think that is about at the limit of where humans can perceive timing differences.

I'm pretty sensitive to input lag and stutters being a long time competitive FPS player. I've hardly ever had an issue with SLI micro-stutter. But then again, I usually have extremely quick/optimized systems.

With my 4.5 GHz 6950X system with two Titan-XP's at 2050+ core with their own each 16x PCI-E 3.0 slots and HB SLI bridge and 3440x1440 100 Hz G-Sync monitor, all games have been butter smooth in SLI. Crysis 3 is running just blazing maxed out on this system. Some levels upwards of 85% CPU usage on a 10-core!
