Crysis 3 is running just blazing maxed out on this system. Some levels upwards of 85% CPU usage on a 10-core!
what's the verdict? Better gaming on the 6700K or the HEDT rig? smile.gif

Alright let me rephrase it, there are microstutters with SLI.

Fact.

If you see them or not, that is another story. Saying you don't have any is plain denial.

Well, the 6700K system puts up overall highest FPS in most games but in demanding CPU games the 6950X puts up better minimum FPS. Since BF1 will be DX12, I'll probably stick with the 6950X.

Ya, and a single GPU's frame-time and pacing aren't perfect either and can spike. Fact. See how that works? The point is that on a properly setup system the frame-time variance in SLI is at the insignificant/imperceptible level. It's like arguing you can feel the difference in input lag between a 2ms lag monitor and a 4ms input lag monitor. rolleyes.gif Not to mention the faster your FPS and refresh rate, the less and less any small frame time variance matters.

Oh, and putting a large gap between two sentences doesn't add any credence to your point.

I received my second Titan XP today. After testing it on it's own, I threw in it's brother and tried some games out. FANTASTIC! Everything I have tested I am at 4k/60fps without a dip with 100% maxed out settings. Witcher 3, with hairworks at the highest settings and everything else is rock solid 60fps. Whoever was the person that said The Division does not scale in SLI was full of it. At max settings, my benchmark was average 46.1 fps on single card and in SLI I am hitting 87.3 fps. So far it has been great. Both cards are at +200 core and +200 on memory hitting about 1946 or so when boosting. Temps are hitting a high of 82c on one card and 78c on the other. This is after gaming for a while in The Division. In Witcher 3, temps do go up as high, I think the highest I hit was 70c. I know the cards would be hitting a higher core if the temps were more under control, I have the fans at a 1 to 1 match with the temp until they hit 60, then I have the fans at 80 when temps hit 70c.

The other thing is that both cards are synced 100% as far as core speed, on my Maxwell Titan's, usually one card would be slightly below the other, but so far the XP's have been perfect in being at the same speed, even though the usage is slightly different. Will be receiving my 1st Ek block tomorrow, but will wait until the 2nd block and backplates arrive before going water on them. But glad I did get a 2nd card. My plan was to try to stick with 1 card, but some of my games 1 card alone could not handle unless I turned things down, but what is the fun at turning down stuff when gaming at 4k. lol. In games like Doom where only 1 card is used, I am dead locked at 60fps at the max settings, so far with games that don't use SLI it has been fine. I have not tried a lot of games that don't support SLI, but when I have more time I will.

I get around 50-60% scaling on my 2nd card in ESO. Maxed out settings on X34 at solid 95fps.

actually I am not a gamer, if I was I probably get a 144hz+ monitor. I play at most 15mins and turn it off.

The inherent fact is that microstutter exist because not every frame is exactly at the end of a refresh. When frame rate is peaking and dipping eventually there will be a frame that is within the refresh cycle of the monitor no matter how high refresh rate is.
