Might be silly but have you tried this?

Older driver? Yes, 369.09 works perfectly.

Btw, can anyone please tell me dimensions of the box Nvidia sends Titan X in? Thanks. Got some packages and need to repackage them and tell my courier up front the dimensions.

Yeah, I tried again today.

DDU in safe mode, followed by a reboot and installing 372.54 drivers results in a driver installation failed message.

If I go into the device manager, right click and manually point it at the 372.54 drivers it will install. After that I can run the Nvidia installer package again and it will install the rest of the Nvidia components as well, but upon a reboot I'll have a code 43 error.

The 372.54 drivers are completely broken on my system. The only way I can get it to work is to go back to 369.05

The 369.05 drivers work perfectly though.

Uninstall with DDU , let Windows install it for you then just install PhysX standalone and Uninstall Nvidia Update , i hear Windows AU installs 372 .

Forget the scaling portion. The problem here wasn't even about SLI. It was about SLI Titan XP's not having enough to max out 1440p at the moment. At which point, he decided to take an example of the FPS I was getting, by saying he's getting 144fps all the time except when he gets a cpu bottleneck, and concluding that SLI is bad and he is smarter by having just 1 card

To each their own. I'd say that for me - however - I'd sacrifice my left nut to never have to deal with SLI ever again.

I had dual Radeon 6970's back in late 2010. Got them because I had just gone 2560x1600 and no single card was fast enough. The crossfire experience was awful. Poor minimum framerates, stutter, input lag, game compatibility and crashing, you name it.

I didn't learn from my mistakes. When I again was a high resolution early adopter last year when I got my 4K screen, the only solution that was fast enough was to go with dual cards. I got dual 980ti's. I was willing to try it because everyone always says SLI is so much better than Crossfire.

To be fair, my SLI experience was indeed better than Crossfire, but that isn't saying much. I still had many titles that didn't work well with SLI, I had poor minimum frame rates, high input lag and stutter, and had to constantly fight with the SLI profiles every time a new driver came out.

I understand that for certain AAA titles, the SLI experience isn't too bad because they put a ton of time into optimizing their games for SLI, but I'm not really into "Call of Modern Battlefield: Online" so this was not my experience at all.

My SLI experience was what was behind my motivation to spend $1200 for a Titan X and an additional $1000 on a custom water loop this time around. I wanted to make sure I could get minimum framerates of 60 fps or above at 4K with eye candy turned on, in the games that I play, without ever having to go anywhere near SLI again.

Suffice it to say, I HATE SLI. If it works for you, that's great. I'm not going to tell you or anyone else what to do. But I'm never touching it again tongue.gif
