It's a 48" js9000, and yep, the two sides are the 20" IPS dells. I too used to have a U3011 in the center!

That's the way I feel about going from 30fps to 60fps, but above 60fps I don't feel a difference.

Or at least I don't remember feeling a difference, but it's been 11+ years since I last played a game above 60fps.

I presume this applies directly to the Titan X?

Possibly, but there is no way in hell I'm taking a soldering iron to my Titan.

Manual PCB soldering is extremely difficult even for professionals. Huge risks of doing permanent damage here, and after this there definitely won't be any warranty.

theres about 10 reviews out but noone testing the compute performance, which is THE PRIMARY USE OF THIS CARD! what is wrong with reviewers these days? only Anandtech tests for it, and they werent given a Titan X Pascal. shame on all the others. give the card to a real review site.

Not trying to start an off-topic flame war, but you're wrong. Give it a try. Above 60Hz will give you smoother animations in desktop, will be easier on your eyes if you look at it for hours, and in games there certainly is a huge difference. I'm not a teenager with 20/20, but double that age and I see a difference like night and day. 100 to 120 or 120 to 144 and above might be less of a difference, but going only 100Hz is huge from my experience (better than my old CRTs ever were (85Hz).

Regarding pixel count, yes, more pixels on 40" is nice, it actually keeps the quality in check when going big. But, the most important advantage I have with my 5K display is a fantastic image quality. You can see the difference at first sight. Try SW: BF on 5K and you'll be amazed. Also, desktop scaled 200% is so clean, mostly text which is fantastic to read even at small font sizes.

I use Titans for compute (my primary use and my job). It's pretty much almost full theoretical advantage considering ALU and if you need memory bandwidth, 500ish is beautiful compared to old 300ish. Especially visible when you overclock the monster to 2GHz and 5.5GHz (VRAM).
Compared to the old Titan, TitanXP is, clock for clock, faster 60-70%. That's huge. 6 TXPs will give you the computing performance you could get with 9 TXMs before. Thats 3 "cards" more for the cost of $600 more compared to TXM and their price.

Most (all?) of the sites I have seen reviews on are oriented towards games. It makes sense they would focus on the topics their readers are interested in.

If there are computer oriented review sites, that should be their priority.

I agree that seeing compute results would be nice, but it really doesn't matter to most of their readers. What matters more to them is getting the review up as quickly as they can, which means skipping some of the extras.
