lol - where did you get this idea from ?? The R5E10 likes a full house - 8 sticks - due to T-topology in the memory trace sublayer. There are no optimized settings for 3000 on x99 that will out perform optimized 3200 on the same platform for two reasons... 1) x99 quad channel is bandwidth oriented, 2) the memory divider for 3200 is the strongest on that platform. With his 6950X and R5E10, 3400c14, or c13 may be possible depending on the CPU's IMC.
can;t read the bios and can't modify it yet. NV has locked us out.
and when it reverses the consumer/market revolts and will not buy games that can't be played on mainstream hardware. Enthusiasts buy halo products... for the halo. wink.gif

finally someone who knows his stuffs and not bull his way through.... thanks for the detailed explanation on this... seems like we are on the same page... thumb.gif

I heard to expect them this fall, with 3333c13 leading the way... but frankly, with 128GB of RAM unless you use lots of VMs or ram disks, 90% of the capacity goes unaddressed (and not much better with 64GB redface.gif ). But, for VMs and the like, 128GB is an amazing amount for a day/driver - home rig! thumb.gif

haha... i rather wait for SM961 or 960 Pro 1TB to be easily available for us consumers soon than to wait for faster RAM... redface.gif

but if the upcoming 3466c13 can make my system fly... i don't mind buying another set....

I already got a set of Ripjaw 4 2800 64GB when its initially launched early last year.... tongue.gif

you're right, i will be using type-2 hypervisor on this rig as my home test lab.... not sure if anyone did try running esxi 6 on R5E10 yet.... maybe can give that a try as well... biggrin.gif

unfortunately, nvflash is only half the solution... we've had a working nvflash for the 1080 for a long time, but no bios editor for the 1080 afaik. mad.gif

Haven't tried, but - is it possible to remove the BIOS chip and read & reprogram it externally? Would that work?

I have 2 980ti's and max every single game at 1440p...

You're not using high enough game settings. Or missed the part about 165Hz.

whoa... that's flow bench territory. (it's not a socketed bios chip)
