Is it possible to just put 2 Titan XP's connected wth the sli bridge and use 2-card sli with dx11 games, but then just let dx12 take care of using all 3 under explicit multi gpu?

Out of curiosity, what sort of gpu power are we talking about here ?

I finally finished setting up and testing my new system this weekend with the 2 TXP cards and although I don't have an HB sli yet I couldn't resist running some early benchmarks already and I got about 16.5K Timespy and 33K (normal) Firestrike. No shunt mod or any sort of hardware modifications. I'm wondering what everyone's getting

I also noticed to my great surprise that when I installed one of my favorite games called "Dragon age" and cranked up the visuals to beyond ULTRA mode (yes some settings have an even higher setting called "fade touched") both cards ran at 80-90% usage constantly when exploring and fighting out in the wilds with the occasional jump to 100% for both. Visuals were unearthly though on my 4K screen. Never even imagined something like that would be possible at a constant fluid 60 frames. Hah, I guess I just reached my personal Valhalla I've been chasing for so many years. My 27" screen is about 50-60cm away from my eyes and at this level the game is now getting this ridiculous sense of realism somehow. I swear I could touch some of these things for real.

Also noticed that with this sort of intensive next-gen gaming for a few hours the system itself stays completely cool pulls 600-750W from the wall nonstop and it heats up the room by 1-2 degree per hour. So in summer I might start needing an airco now... =P =P

"automatic dimming". lol. I guess if you consider the underlying technology doesnt emit any light when the cells are off then yes it would be automatic dimming. Kinda like how a light bulb auto dims when you turn it off.tongue.gif

I think they are referring to the ABL, if there is a lot of white on the screen, brightness will be reduced.

Thanks for the offer.. we can always use abilities such as yours. thumb.gif But, actually the two bioses would not be very similar. the ram size and timings (different ICs), gpu and even the power planes are not the same between the 1080 and TXP. So without a jailbreak (and then hex edit) we're stuck. I mean, I have several 1080 rom files and did a bunch of cross flashing with my 1080... hoping to find a more efficient bios. The Strix XOC bios (out now) may be the best - this came from the man himself (shimino). With NV keeping the TXP out of 3rd party hands, it's gonna be a tough road AFAIK. GUys like Marc0053 really keep an ear on the Bot rail, so if a TXP bios mod becomes available I think it will happen there first. As for now, we only have the resistor mod. I have not done this to either of my cards at this point. Not desperate enough, I mean c'mon these cards have incredible performance OOB. redface.gif

I installed the EVGA 1080/1070 hybrid kit on my Titan and my temps have been getting mid 60c and sometimes to 70c just curious if this seems right. Ambient temp is 77F and my Titan is running +208 core +515 memory. I almost feel like the little radiator is working pretty hard lol and Im sure its impressive considering I was hitting 85c on the stock cooler no overclock.

31.5" 8K is going to be a pretty epic screen. It may require two Displayport inputs like the Dell 5K, but this time two DP 1.3/1.4 ports instead of DP 1.2's if the display doesn't support DSC.

4K @ 120 Hz still suppose to come out around the same time, I'd suspect late winter.

I've had the 5K Dell a long time ago. The resolution is super crisp but the motion blur is quite bad. For static bright images though its pretty sweet.

Do you have SWBF? That game scales really well in SLI and has a built in resolution scale slider up to 200% if you want to compare 4-way vs my 2-way numbers.

So more people can play:

1. Launch SWBF and set resolution to 2560x1440.
2. Full Screen / V-Sync off / Field of view 55 / motion blur = 0 / Film grain = 0 / Resolution Scale = 200% / Graphics quality preset = Ultra
3. Go to Missions -> Training -> Endor Chase -> Solo play.
4. As soon as you get dumped into the game world and the storm trooper stops talking on the top left, note FPS.

On my system it is 92.

I do have SWBF. Haven't tried it yet but can you post a screenshot? Also, I think it would be best, for consistency, to use the 60 sec. Fraps Benchmark tool to get FPS - post the AVERAGE FPS number for the Endor Chase level.

Doesn't anyone know someone in "Anonymous" or someone who works for the Chinese government or the NSA who can pull the engineers flash utility off their servers?

JPM,

Quick question about scaling - Fire Strike Ultra runs great w/ 4 Titan XP with scaling near 99% across all GPUs.

When I run Fire Strike Extreme (Time Spy is garbage for me - not sure why), scaling drops to ~ 40% across the 4 GPUs. I saw on the HoF that a couple of people ran the Extreme preset w/ 4x Titan XP but their scores were really high which means their GPUs must have scaled properly.

It seems like for me, only higher resolutions, both in benchmarks and in games, offer proper scaling. Any idea why? How do I "fix" this? I would like to run Fire Strike Extreme and get a nice score.

Time Spy is another weird thing for me - my 4-Way score is lower than my 2-Way score! tongue.gif

You didn't accidentally forget to set your GPU's to "Prefer Max performance" or whatever in the control panel did you?

Well, that's not a good benchmark - I'm running a really intense ENB with a ton of texture/car mods and so vanilla GTA V is really no comparison.

How about some other games like Shadow of Mordor, BF4, Tomb Raider etc.?
