[Official] NVIDIA Titan X Pascal Owners Thread - Page 355

Congrats I just returned one of my Titan X Pascals and the SLI bridge. I realized I didn't need two and although fun I can always get one in awhile for less. I plan to put the EVGA Hybrid Cooler on it when they release it as I don't want a custom loop.

What processor are you using the Titan's with? I have a 6850K.

Does anyone else observed decreased performance with overvolting? (even with watercooling)
Using MSI afterburner with overvolting unlocked :

Temps around 44 degrees.
Firestrike ultra 7707 with no overvolting.
Fitestrike ultra 7528 with 100% overvolting. I had to diminish the gpu boost from +225 to +220 because it would make the driver crash (but it's working with no overvolting, which i don't understand).
Even if i reached a higher max clockspeed, clock seem to fluctuate more with overvolting

I observed the same results when I had a gtx 1080. Was way more unstable with overvolting. I finally let it to no overvolting for the best performance/stability!

Maybe Pascal doesn't like overvolting?

It's more about the temps than the volts....it was starting to shift that way with maxwell. Pascal just moved further that direction. Increasing voltage on Pascal is going to do nothing without getting temps ridiculously low.

You are hitting power limit soner by adding more voltage.
Without a bios to unlock power limit adding more voltage will only make it worst.

Makes sense! I guess I'll stay with stock voltage. Waiting for a Bios mod because don't think it's worth it to hard power mod with CLU...

I have a question for those that have installed EK blocks. When using the thermal pads that come them, did you cut down the pieces to go over sections 2 and 3 or did you just lay the entire thing over the sections for 2 and 3? I know they come pre-cut for the memory modules, but not sure if I need to cut down the other pieces to over the other parts or just lay the entire thing over those sections?

Just lay them down, no need to cut.
