seriously ? Would you send back a product like that just for the hopes to get a few more Mhz on the core overclock ? Are we becoming so spoiled ? smile.gif

I personally would be very happy with what I got and call it a day. The difference even if you got lucky would be marginal after all right ?

The GPU sammich is causing the top card to get to 90C which then causes thermal throttling so that's annoying.

Nonetheless, performance is staggering since my memory is stable across all 4 GPUs at +650 and OC +150.

I read and followed up on your setup and I remember I was thinking exactly that. In fact even far below 90 you have gradual throttling so I would expect the total performance of your 4-SLI setup to skyrocket if you put it on water with some oversized rads behind it. In fact I can hear them scream for water like flowers in the desert already smile.gif What's holding you back mate ? Me for one I am dying to see the difference that would make smile.gif

I applied the CLU using the tip of the tube and thinned out using Q-tips. I mound my card horizontally with a fan blasting air on the VRM for cooling as I am using an EK thermosphere waterblock.
Although the shunt mod eliminates most of the core clock throttle there is still throttling due to GPU temps. On air clocks would throttle down by as much as 200 mhz while water was around 50mhz. doing the shunt mod with watercooling brings down throttle to about 20 mhz or so. My GPU temps are 21C unload and about 31C when loaded (firestrike). This did help most benchmark scores by a small amount.

Yesterday I put the TX on LN2. The clocks scales very well with cold for example gpupi I could clock up to 2139mhz on water at 21C/31C but on LN2 at -38C I got up to 2316MHz. For those interested in cooling the TX below ambient the cards drops clocks at around 0C or colder by 200mhz. for me at -38C or colder the gpu crashes at any load. The only way to avoid the 200mhz downclock below 0C was to set the core clocks using the “Curve” as opposed to offset. When you press CTRL+F in MSI afterburner you will get the clock curve. Click on the point assigned to 1.075V and hold the CTRL button while moving up the point to your desired clock (for me it was 2316MHZ for GPUPI @ 1.075V). http://hwbot.org/submission/3301662_marc0053_gpupi___1b_titan_x_pascal_10sec_144ms

4 air cooled TXPs in a $5000 heat sammich... the shame!

You're not alone... Max stable core is 2037 and mem +575

But how much time do you want to spend getting that extra 2 to 4%

I just accepted it... maybe getting some extra speed with custom firmware (if that will be possible let in the future)

Dude, are you sure you want to keep doing that? I've had GTX680's in SLI for more than four years now, and my main GTX680 ran pretty hot (high 80's), due to my fault, of course, and it finally gave up the ghost a few months ago.

I didn't think running it that hot would cause it to die at the time, so I just ran it that way. But when I get new video cards, I'm going to try to run them cooler.
