I don't doubt that people have issues, however I never had issues. Maybe I'm just lucky, maybe it's just maybelline.
Then again you need SLI for Division or Tomb Raider at 1440p and max settings.

If I squeeze 25% vs my 1080 at 2100 MHZ under water I will be super happy with my Titan purchase.20% would still justify my purchase, at 15% slight disappointment would kick in...

So, just two make sure I'm not crazy, two of these will certainly outperform three 980Tis, right?

Also, getting three of these is not advisable, right?

I asked this in the Official Titan X thread, but I will ask here as well. From some of the initial "reports" of the Pascal version, it sounded like the Titan X Pascal is an exclusive and there won't be any 3rd party partners cards? Is that true? Or there might be cards coming from partners in the next 6months?

Nvidia impose restrictions on the add-in-board partners for cards carrying the Titan brand. They are always reference PCBs with reference BIOS's and reference air coolers. The only exceptions made are those allowing for water-cooling solutions.

Gigabyte sort of got round the restrictions with a couple of products by selling the reference Titan bundled with their Windforce cooler for the end user to fit.

For Titan X Pascal though, Nvidia are selling it exclusively directly; not via the AIB partners. It is unknown if this is some kind of timed exclusive or not.

Its basically typical monpolistic behavioir. They dint face any competition in the high end so they dont need board partners. Now they can cash the Board partner margin especially in the high end where no extra marketing is needed. People who shop for titans inform themselfes and find oit.

Exactly... I read another news bit that it might be a timed exclusive... but I only ask is because of the water block. If all previous Titan series were all reference designed even by partners, then I won't worry. I am planning to get a water block for this Titan X Pascal.

Anyone have experience as to what time they go on sale? I fear the limited quantity might give me the underhand of getting one on August 2nd because I am in the Pacific Time zone.

You do know that you can also overclock your Titan and given its thermals and power setup Titan may be able to sustain high clocks better (during gaming). So even against your watercooled GTX 1080 you may be looking for 30%+ difference in performance (with Titan X). It's all up to nVidia and how they'd implement their adaptive overclocking profile on Titan X.

I hope you are right. I just try to manage my expectations to not get bdisappointed smile.gif The more power the better!
