[Official] NVIDIA Titan X Pascal Owners Thread - Page 55

Welp....my self control has faded....i was stuck for so long on 4K@60hz vs 3440(21:9)Curve@100hz. Checked to see if there was any decent ~30" OLED out there, didn't see any. Noticed that by some bizarre manner of glitch my TITAN X charge had utterly disappeared from my Bank statement leaving $1400 still in my account. I said f*** it and bit, getting this monitor. I have a feeling it'll correct itself, but i can always cover the mess with my next payment coming in a week or so.

Acer x34p coming around November. Think LG and Viewsonic coming out with thier own soon as well.

Very little difference between that one and the original X34. The former runs 100Hz native, but most X34s can overclock to 100Hz just fine (mine included). Also the curve is slightly larger. To be honest, I don't really notice that much curve on mine, but I haven't used any non-curved ultrawides, so it's hard for me to compare.

The larger curve is welcome and perhaps better quality control since the newest LG 34" display panels suffer from a lot less backlight bleeding which the x34p is sure to use. Native 100Hz is also guaranteed. What if the monitor starts to act weird at 100Hz? Acer warranty has you covered. I also prefer the matte finish on the back of the x34p over the glossy finish on the x34. Of course all of this isn't a huge deal but it's very welcome.

Actually it's more different than you think.

According to Acer the X34P will have:

1) 100hz native, with overclockability to 120hz or higher

2) 1900r curve compared to 3800r curve on X34 (~2x more curve)

3) Matte black finish to the back, so no more shiny cheap plastic on the back

4) Joystick style OSD buttons similar to those on the ASUS ROG Swift monitors

5) Full swivel etc.. stand control (Tilt, Swivel, Height adjust etc..)

6) And most importantly imo, it will use a newer "S-IPS" panel from LG, rather than the older "AH-IPS" that had so much backlight bleed issues. (The S-IPS in the X34P is supposedly the same panel type used in the new 34UM98-W which is $1200 even without the inclusion of G-Sync and 100hz etc.. http://www.lg.com/us/monitors/lg-34UC98-W-ultrawide-monitor )

But i just couldn't see myself waiting till the end of the year to get a new monitor, especially after getting new GPUs which makes you itch for better display tech to take advantage of it lol. (Plus there's no info that i'm aware of that says November. In fact Acer has only said "Q4" with one clarifying remark saying "Late Q4" and some people who were at Computex claiming they were told possibly December. There's also TFTCentral saying that 120hz+ capable 3440x1440p panels are just now in mass-production in late july early august, which they say usually means 2-3 months before companies like Acer get a hold of them in volume, and ANOTHER 2-3 months before they can manufacture enough of them to have a feasible amount of stock for an anticipated release.

If you look back a few pages there are some people who were getting ~31,000 or more in FS at FHD resolution. Not sure about Heaven, most people are running Firestrike, Timespy, Valley, or in-game benchmarking tools.

x34 is an awesome monitor that you can use right now. Besides, all these monitors are placeholders for OLED and HDR enabled monitors.

Anybody with a Titan XP having measured the actual performance gains from overlock (in %)? (i.e. have the card at stock everything, including power target and then overclocked some).

It's the only way for us who are still waiting for the card to project the actual performance that we're going to get (what the reviews say + the actual performance gain due to the overclock)
