[Official] NVIDIA Titan X Pascal Owners Thread - Page 720

Why is it everyone is referring to the "+MHz" numbers when talking about the OCing capabilities? Wouldn't it be much more precise to say e.g. it settles at 2038MHz@55deg with +200 on the core?

Anyways, I'd like to ask you something else as well. Do you guys think that 2 Txp will exceed the capability of my cooling? I have an 7700k@4,9GHz (not delidded so far) and a Txp at the above mentioned OC. CPU reaches ~75-80deg, GPU settles at 55deg while playing Ghost Recon Wildlands for multiple hours. I have a custom loop with one 360 and one 240 radiator with noisekiller fans @~1100rpm. Not too sure about the water temps tough.

My Titan XP do pretty well under water cooling (+185 Core/600 RAM), and hope my new card is better...

P.S. I know it is costly, but it will serve me for two or three years

So would your Titan X, in that case... lol

I can't be arsed to sell mine for a mere 7% difference.

Basically, the full unlocked GP102, 3584 vs 3840, here's the difference, assuming same clock speed and memory speed:

3840 cores at 1840 mhz is same performance as 3584 cores at 2000 mhz.

Not really arsed to "upgrade", let me know when AMD or Nvidia have a Volta Ti or something similar on AMD side.

At least I fulfilled my goal to build a dream PC now, by upgrading to Titan Xp, which uses a complete GP102. biggrin.gif

Well, yes and no. It's not only directly impacted by a $1,200 titan, but it is impacted by GPU's. The gaming revenue for nvidia is substantially higher than any other things they're doing right now, deep learning, auto, pro visualization. The other than gaming fields are showing good growth, and that's certainly helping the stock, however the downgrades are coming from analysts thinking that nvidia completely over saturated the market with GPU's and it's going to stagnate. That's my 2cents.gif

The market is reacting negatively to Nvidia milking its customers, in the span of (what seemed like a week) NV likely sold thousands of TI's to folks who were thinking they were buying the fastest GPU available only to have their cards usurped by the Xp.mad.gif

Edit: what NV is doing is not good business, although it's good business for AMD! biggrin.gif

Edit: although it would have been bad business to kill off the XP which (for one week) everyone thought NV did with the TI. I guess the joke was on us..jerry.gif

A little off topic from the current discussions.

Not long ago I discussed the issue about individual 6 and 8 pin power cords versus a single cable with both connections. My verdict is as follows. With a single power cable with both connections the ability to overclock is limited. This not only affected my Titans but also my CPU. I experienced frequent lockups and system restarts especially during benchmarking. As soon as I attached individual power cords these problems went away. I was able to overclock my CPU and Titans again.
