I will never understand this, who is buying these? If someone is willing to drop $800+ on a $700 card, and waste $100+ by not having the patience of waiting, then what's another $400 for ~37% more performance (based on HardwareCanuck's average)?

If $100 means so little to them, surely they can stretch $400 for much better performance! I have a feeling most of the people buying 1080s above market value have no clue this card exists yet.

Then they are the same people that ask us why we paid $1200 for Titan XP for a 20% gain.. biggrin.gif

I am going to be running two of these in SLI. Should I leave one of my 980Tis in the system for PhysX?

Not enough. You should leave both 980 Tis in there.

Dont think many games or apps use dediucated physx. This might change with VR but I wouldnt count on it.

That is how I am planning to run my setup, and mainly for future proofing my VR experience. I own the Oculus Rift

I got an extra 980TI laying around, and those Titan XP coming in a few days

As indicated with the VR Funhouse Demo from nvidia. to run VR SLI, you needed 2x 10-Series GTX cards in SLI mode, then 1x dedicated 980TI card.

I think in theory that would be great but lets face it there are a hand full of crazy enthusiasts like we are who would really do this. Developers will not code for 0.01% of the market. I would put 3 bloody Titans in if that would really add substantial value to VR... But not just for Funhouse alone.
