[Official] NVIDIA Titan X Pascal Owners Thread - Page 730

I have 2 Titan X Pascal cards (overclocked to 2050 MHz each) and a 5820 K (overclocked to 4.3 GHz).

When everything is pulling hard, it draws 800 W from the UPS with an EVGA 1000W T2 PSU.

Be careful with the P2 1200 W if you are running through a UPS. The inrush current is high and could trip the UPS. This is why I went to the T2 1000 W. thumb.gif

I bought a EVGA T2 1600 when I was running 980Ti's in triple SLI because I did not want to take any chances. Not that I need that much now, but I have noticed a significant improvement with overclocking and stability by not cutting corners. Example from a previous post about using a single power cable with a 6 and 8 pin connector versus an individual cable per connection. When I used a single cable with both connections my system would frequently lock up and any slight attempt at overclocking. Not just the Titans but also my CPU and system memory.

I'm not sure what a UPS is apart from meaning "uninterruptible power supply" so I'm probably not using one tongue.gif

There's no way these cards (250W TDP) draw 400W of power.
With power limit set to max. (120%), we are talking about 300W for each card.

Still rocking that "old" Titan XP on firestrike ultra hall-of-fame!

core +225
vram +550
temp around 40 celcius

Can't wait to try my second TXP biggrin.gif

you'll enjoy 6850k i think its a great balance between 4 and higher cored cpus. and if it overclocks well, single threaded performance is above 6900k and 6950 and right below 7700k

TDP ≠ Power draw.

Had the shunt mod on for a few days. Used CLU, but after some researching, it doesn't look like it's a good idea as people have said it eats solder. So I cleaned it off. Now back to the throttling for now at least.mad.gif

Might try the shunt mod again with conductonaut, might not as the cold season is over weather wise.

Yeah - UPS = Uninterruptible Power Supply.

I leave my PCs on 24/7...so a UPS is a must for me!
post #7299 of 7459
Keep in mind about the maximun wanttage on ups. Most manufactures advise it on volt-ampere that is no equal watts. It´s about 60 or 70 percent of total volt-amperes supported by the ups. It´means that if you computer consumes 600 w on full charge ( assuming that the psu used have about 200w of headroom on maximun charge) you nedd a ups of at least 1000va.
Also is important chose a ups with line interactive or on line function. Those functions extend the battery life and attenuates all possible fluctuations in the input voltage.
Buy a good ups is worth it but it not cheaper.

Sure. Let me put it this way then.
8pin = 150W
6pin = 75W
PCI-E = 75W
Total = 300W
