The issue with the 1060 you can SLI, so if I wanted to do that later on I would be so limited for that I grab a gtx 980ti back again. XD

that is a good point. Both card however are 256bit so, it all depends. Plus if the release go the way NVIDIA and AMD has this year were you can't find a single card for months later. I will go nuts. At least the PowerColor Devil RX 480 is coming out on Friday so I can purchase that at the worse case but I feel I need to in order to be happy for a while. Or go the single card route which means it will not be a RX 480.

I don't have a big brand preference tbh, as imo they're almost all the same in terms of performance just different coolers/ slightly higher clocks etc.

Completely forgot about the 1060 that fatmario just posted. That's also an option.

Never said Nvidia has 'better' drivers, just that I personally prefer their support over AMD. I'm talking about since the days of the 4890/6870 etc, from ever since I've preferred to purchase Nvidia cards. I know things have improved in that department, no argument about that.

Also Nvidia cards tend to run cooler and draw less power which is another reason I personally prefer them.

yea i am stuck whether or not I want to stay on water or go to air. XD MSI has the EK block that go with my setup. But if I go air the GPU will be cheaper. Since both the 480 and 1070 run cooler is it even worth having them under water?

Yes, 480 also has 256-bit bus. But I was talking about Vega (490 or however it'll be called) which will have broader bus, it's pretty much confirmed. It might even come out with HBM2

that is true base on my reading is a very good chance of HMB2 to be out with it. I guess it comes down to the 480 CF or a 1070 now. Pretty close in pricing together. I know the PowerColor will sell for $269.99. So 2x of those cards will be $540 and the MSI with EK block is $540.00 as well.

Watercooling these newer cards is not necessary, you can go that route if you plan to overclock them excessively.
