lol yeah the wait has paid off. Dropped $25k on AMD back in october while it was $1.88.

Now the shares are now worth near $93k, I'm thinking it will only keep going up so i'll wait until it hits $7.25 to sell.

Do not sell, hold AMD shares because they will go to the 10+$ no doubt.

AMD stock at 1.8$, this was nonsense/deceitful manipulation and has nothing to do with bad or better AMD business.

At this moment ARM stock have nearly twice the Intel stock.Realistically this is the right balance of value, ARM CPU Mobile+other domination is today much more valuable than Intel. wink.gif

Would that really help AMD? Mining in the past from what I heard kept prices of AMD GPUs higher than Nvidia's and since they went to mining, did not improve AMD's marketshare.

I am a little surprised this hasn't been brought up already, but a good chunk of the 480s have been going into Ethereum mining.

As far as whether or not it helps AMD, I don't know. It is cards being sold, so it can't be all that bad? Certainly could hurt the gaming market share, but everyone I know that has wanted to pick up a 480 as an upgrade for gaming has successfully done so. Also, Ethreum mining definitely isn't as hyped as Bitcoin once was. I guess it is hard to really know anything without seeing actual numbers.

It won't hurt (and would actually help) as long as AMD can keep up with inventory, so those who actually want a 480 won't have to wait months on end, lose patience, and buy nVidia instead.
LoL! 2nd post is about the 480's. Like that has anything to do with their profitability. doh.gif

Was thinking about investing in AMD myself a few months ago when price was a lot lower. Never did and kicking myself for it. I could invest almost 100k right now, but wonder if I should or not because at the current price, that would be only 13,642 shares @ $7 a share.

I'd hold. If rumors of Zen are well, the stock will go up nicely. If rumors of Vega are well, the stock will go up again. Of course, you always sell at the peak of speculation, but I think AMD is breaking $10. From an all time low of $1.67 back in Sept, I'm hating myself for not jumping in then.
