List of cheaply made (and useless mice)

Im actually so dissappointed to Finalmouse build quality and as there a quote many new small companies popping up with their new mice I thought why not make a thread about mice which are just cheap and useless for people who expect high quality.

By saying useless I mean useless for people who cant deal with all the blatant flaws which are super annoying. I hope these new 3360 Sensei copycats dont make it to this list.

1. Finalmouse Ergo 2015
2. Coolermaster Mizar/ Alcor

I've had a Kana and KanaV2, a Sensei RAW and currently have the Kinzu V3. The only good one from that list was the KanaV2. I've said this before but I loved it. I literally had no reason to throw it out but I did, anyway. I regret that decision. There was some minor wear on the sides but that was all.

I know you have a Xai. What's it like apart from it having bad tracking?

im confused by the topic/title of this thread, i came in here thinking it would be a list of just cheap gaming mice you were going to recommend.

instead you're complaining about the egro final mouse, which is not cheap and a couple cooler master mice which aren't that cheap either.

and while my FM ergo came in good quality, i can't say the same for my tournament pro which i was extremely disappointed with, esp for the price i paid.

fair to say i won't be buying another finalmouse product again, especially if logitech is listening to their customers now and making mice with nice shapes again.

I believe it has some awful TTC switches or SteelSeries Oranges, the actual weight isn't to bothersome since the feet are pretty decent on mine, the OLED screen is cool but kind of useless, I would (probably) be willing to use it if it could actually track half decently on anything I own.

So it sucks basically.

Normal Kinzu v1 has a TTC encoder and switches, SA has D2F 01Fs but no clue on the scroll wheel.

I am really underwhelmed with how Steelseries has handled quality over the years. The first XAIs (2009/2010) had GREAT built quality. The shell and the coating of it, the keys etc. My 2012 isn't that great. And after that it either went further down the hill or I just got bad luck. I had two more XAIs then, they lasted 3-6 months. Then I switched to Senseis and they had equal durability issues.

When I got my Mionix Avior 7000 it felt like a Mercedes Benz next to a Tuctuc. Really. The coating is very durable, the sensor and software is okay. Button latency seems to be an issue though so I will have got to look for something else soon.

Maybe a new Mionix, maybe a Benq/Zowie or a Logitech. It depends on which company first brings a light, ambidextrous mouse with a good sensor and enough keys I guess. And to Logitech: IT WOULD ALSO HELP A LOT IF THE SHAPE ISNT'T DOWNRIGHT HORRIBLE.

Are you sure about that? There was a japanese guy who replaced the original switches, and they had a white top so they were definitely TTC or chinese Omron. IIRC only the V1 Pro version, which is still available in my country for ~30€ and I can help someone with shipment aboard, had japanese Omrons.

Rog Gladius: Shape is awesome, sensor good, build quality no complains, BUT the Firmware renders it utterly useless: can't roll back the firmware, click latency due to crappy firmware and tracking bugs.

edit: there's a workaround for the click delay, you need to download the spatha's rog armoury. And the 2k hz is fake

Well you can fix the +20ms debouncing by installing the software from the Spatha.

https://www.asus.com/us/ROG-Republic-Of-Gamers/ROG-Spatha/HelpDesk_Download/

Install it. Set slider to 32ms(22ms). Apply. Put slider back down to 8ms(4ms). Apply. Setting stays in memory and will be retained even without the software. Voila!

As for the other bugs, I never updated the firmware on mine. However, I did think there might have been some minor cursor drift.

edit: Now if you want to talk about some bad~ Dexin design, the M90/M95 is a great place to start. A friend of mine killed his M90 mouse with a large static shock.

When the mouse isn't giving you static shocks, it's disconnecting constantly due to them. In my friends case it bit the dust. Or offed itself.

Doesn't seem you can ever go wrong with logitech mice, and they seem to have a price point and feature set for everyone. I have a pretty basic mouse with 2 media buttons and the back and forward browsing buttons, that's it. I think it was somewhere just north of $20. It's lasted quite a while so far and I don't have any reason to expect it to not last another 5 or more years.

I love you, really. I can't replicate the tracking bug after installing the spatha software either... And i thought it was my mobo/psu/cpu. That doesn't explain why the deathadder had the same problem after installing the gladius though, maybe i was being too paranoid and i was accidentally moving both mice or maybe this mouse was messing with my ports... Anyway I love you and let's see if i've finally get rid of this tracking bug or if it's just temporary.

Well before we get all gushy, keep in mind that there's no firmware included in the new spatha software aka Armoury Version 2. To be more accurate it doesn't need to update the firmware to access and adjust the setting in the mouse. I only have theories on how it works so it's a mystery to me in the end.

If only I'd known before installing the gladius armoury version... This is how it should be, a firmware update shouldn't be mandatory in order to "use" your mouse. They give you the option to update the firmware in the settings window, and that's where it should have always been.
