Z170 motherboard mid-range suggestions

Thread Starter
I am about to buy a new z170 motherboard for my build. For now, I am interested in the Gigabyte Z170x Gaming 5. For what it offers, I think it will be sufficient for my need. I've read plenty of reviews and it seems to be a good board. I am getting a Gigabyte one because I have the UD3H Z77 in my current build and I have not been deceived so far.

I will get a second GTX 980 ti when the time comes so the board needs to be able to do SLI. Do you guys have any alternative about the same price range? I know MSI and Asus offers good board but I am not used to their BIOS configuration to OC the CPU.

Any advise would be appreciated!

Well other suggestions in the same price range would naturally have to be other brands.
I would go for the Asus Z170A Pro Gaming.
It has the performance numbers of a more expensive board while still be mid-range.
