I blame ebay for being so tempting. devil.gif

I started with three 12726's from ebay I did know the heat output at 14.8volts was out of sight that is why I put 6 radiators on the build. so I did have some conception as I tested one for reference before building a rig for three. it still failed as two of the TEC's only got to half capacity. what I learned is that I really needed more but a different approach seemed logical as well.

so I to tried to fallow what LiamG6 was trying to explain, did not really get it but I did get that if I use three times the amount of smaller TEC's at lower voltages I might be closer to my goal.

TBH I don't think at the time, he actually thought I would build the system three times larger. tongue.gif

Coolant temps were high enough that my big dual bay res was warm to the touch through the plexi, think they hit 37c LOL.

I did exactly as you described. Got the highest rated TEC I could find on eBay. Insulated my board and threw it in direct die on my overclocked FX 8350 in a waterloop that also had two Fury X's, which aren't exactly efficient in the power usage department. Lo' and behold, it didn't work whatsoever.

Fortunately LiamG6 typed me several essays which set me straight on how TECs work and gave me what I needed to go off on my own and figure it out.

Hello,
Small return, negative for the moment.
On my object, 4 of the tecs were dead.
Therefore changed by tec TEC1-12714S.
Only the fan is not enough.
Can I immerse the tecs in the water?
Cold is measured with this, Greisinger GTH 175/PTI get -33 degrees celcius
thanks

if you immerse the TEC in water then it'll be neutralized

because both sides will be touching the same body of water, meaning the hot side will warm up the cold side.

LOL biggrin.gif in the extreme scenario you'll just be making steam tongue.gif

nah, for it to work, you'll need to keep the cool side on its own, and the hot side on its own

each with its own separate body of water.

well that is a air cooler, the cold side of the TEC's face in, to the air cooling block, so if 4 of the 6 TEC's are not functional. what did you do exactly to alter this device?
