Peltier/TEC Hybrid Water Cooling vs 2.0 - Page 27

Thread Starter
I am making plans to create Peltier/TEC Hybrid Water Cooling vs 3.0.

I already have the majority of what I need to do it, but one serious missing element I want to do is to replace the PVC pipe reservoir with a Stainless Steel reservoir.

So far my searching for a possible solution is running into one dead end after another, probably because the liquid volume needs to be 64oz ~ 128oz / 1.8L ~ 3.7L and no greater than that, preferably closer to the lower volume of that range.

If any of you searching through the internet run across something that might work or even be modified to work in Stainless Steel, Please let me know? Thanks Ryan

Starbucks double walled reusable stainless steel coffee cup.

Stainless steel thermos flask.

EDIT: You may need to use two to get up to 1.8L

What's the TEC layout gonna look like on 3.0?

I had already found this as one possibility, just to give you an idea of what I'm after, and it will require some modding for inlet and oulet lines.

http://www.hansonellis.com/stainless-steel-mini-beer-keg.html

Size wise to fit inside the case even insulating it will work just fine.

I've found many stainless steel double wall vacuum sealed thermos and jugs that at first seem great but they have no inlet and outlet ports and once I bore the holes the vacuum seal between the walls is gone.

I have not fully decided on that yet.

Are there aspects of your current system that you're looking to improve upon?

Yes, That's why I'm hoping an insulated Stainless Steel reservoir will have a faster temperature drop and longer cold retention.

Some of the improvements I am making have already been bought, and will be revealed when 3.0 is revealed.

If I breach the seal on a double wall vacuum sealed thermos design I can always fill the void between the walls with expanding foam.

I am not too sure of the effectiveness of doing that, but the outside appearance of the reservoir would look great.

Don't breach the seal. Put both the inlet and outlet through the lid.
