MS published Ryse for Xbox one
Crytek published digital PC version
Deep Silver published retail PC version.

No I put deep silver as the publisher, crytek is a developer, the teamed with Microsoft studios for publishing and deep silver for distribution on Ryse just like they used EA for Crysis and Ubisoft for Farcry. You think they just did that for fun? Lol you partner with a publisher who handles the marketing, funding, etc. While you develop the game. Crytek doesn't have the kinda funds to publish, they've been circling the toilet for years.

Another example, warface uses Nexon Trion, tencent, and one other as publishers

I enjoyed both games, but Crysis 1 definitely had the most open feel. 2/3 put the series into a standard shooter box with pretty graphics, while enjoyable, was really plain.

That said I'm interested in a new cryengine, it's a good engine and I'd like to see it used more if not just to give UE4 some good competition

It's not what makes me happy, it's facts. Can you read the sentence highlighted by a red box with two red arrows pointing at it that says:

"co-published by Crytek GmbH and Deep Silver"

and also the part to the right that says that the publisher is Crytek? See the article quote below too.

See below, this is getting ridiculous.

Jeez.

I'll also quote the relevant part because some people still don't appear to get it:

Quote:
Also, while Crytek will publish the digital version, copublisher Deep Silver will help distribute boxed versions to retail stores.

My first post in this thread was talking about Crytek needing to make peace with PC gamers. Then I talked about what they did and one of them was releasing Ryse: Son of Rome also on Steam. Any more doubts?
