Logitech Gaming Software & Windows 7 Firewall

Hello,

I'm a new user to Windows 7 and I've managed to figure out everything except for one very annoying issue with Windows Fireall/Logitech Gaming Software. When I have Windows 7 firewall enabled, my Logitech G19 keyboard won't work. The media controls will work, but the keyboard itself won't work (I can't type & macro keys won't work). I can see & open the Logitech software via my notifications area & the software does start automatically each time I start Windows 7. I've gone into device manager already and made sure that it wasn't just the computer forcing the keyboard to sleep. I'm hoping someone has had this problem before.

I have LCore.exe added to "allow programs to communicate..." section.

I have the following inbound rules setup (Windows Firewall set these up itself & I have no outbound rules):
Code:
Logitech Gaming Framework All Yes Allow No C:\program files\logitech gaming software\lcore.exe Any Any UDP Any Any Any Any

Sounds more like a hardware issue to me if you can't type or use macros. No reason to make any firewall changes to this. I would first start to see if it works on another machine. then check the drivers to make sure it's installed properly and reinstall if need be. 3rd would be to image your current setup and reinstall Windows fresh and see if it works there. If non of these scenario's work, your keyboard is nuked. Time to RMA.

It's not the hardware because when Windows firewall is disabled, all features work just fine.

Then I would contact Logitech about their software and let them help you.

WOW, thanks for such useful advice, LOL. I posted here hoping someone would have this problem. If you didn't, no need to respond.

Lol my final suggestion would be to maybe look at the Logitech forums to see if someone there has this issue. Kinda would be the first place most people would look.. just sayin...
