I bought and have used an X-55 for little over a year now, and I am now starting to experience the dead buttons in the throttle that so many others have complained about. After searching through the Interwebs wink.gif and seeing the nightmare that is Saitek/Mad Catz Customer Support I have decided to forego 1) getting a new X-55 and 2) Buying the X-56. As such I'm open to suggestions on HOTAS setups (No HOSAS please...maybe in the future but not now). I also play flight sims but my primary focus is on Space Sims at the moment.

I own the gladiator (the $99) version and use it for both games you've listed. And I love it. Much better than the TM t.flight I was using.

You're going to have to find a throttle tho because I don't think VKB will have a solution for at least a year. I roll with the CH pro throttle.

I've been using a full CH setup, Throttle, Stick and Pedals, and am really enjoying it. While the CH products are a bit more expensive for all 3, they are sold individually so you can buy the collection overtime. If I'm not mistaken, the USB plug runs into your X-55 Stick, so you could keep using the stick and pickup a replacement throttle. I don't have any experience with the Gladiator, so perhaps others can give you their opinion.

This was a very comprehensive review comparing the X-55, CH Products, and Warthog. It's an unbiased review from a guy who owns all of them. Some people are just peripheral junkies, but since I don't have the budget for that, I rely on those who do thumb.gif

To sum up, he basically uses the CH products for the majority of his flying.
