Suggestions for 1440p gaming

I'm trying to figure out what GPU(s) to get for 1440p gaming under 400$
I'm currently using two 27-inch Qnix 1440p debezeled monitors (My 3rd one didn't make it frown.gif ) and a 42-inch TV
As far as system specs all I can really state is that I've got an Evga G2 1000-watt PSU.
Everything else is up in the air and at the very least I'll be using i5-4670k/16gb ram/120mm cooler like the Scythe SCFM-1000, 250gb ssd

unless the 1070 was below 400$ after tax, the 980ti would be the largest single GPU I'd suggest.

The titan GPU line is not one that I'll ever buy into.
980 ti's are around 350$, 980's are 275$, 970's are 200, 780's are 150$.
Rather avoid AMD minus the new 480 with aftermarket cooler or upcoming line up.

Considered the 1060 for 260$, but they're all 300$+
Considered the 480 but they are hard to find at the moment as well as I would only consider a non-reference design for AMD

I was in the same spot. I started with a single 1070 (MSI X), and its been awesome. Struggled to do EVERY game maxed out at 1440p, but it was more than fine. But wanting to truly get max settings out of everything, and do it at 144hz+, I got a second 1070. In the games that support SLI, its easy now to get 165+ FPS with 1440p on ultra settings. I got a 165hz 1440p Gsync panel too and its just DOPE.

I say start with the single 1070 and when it starts to show its age, get another. Same thing I would have said to the 970 guys a year ago.

if ur not willing to spend 20 more then dont buy a card at all and enjoy integrated graphics, not willing to spend more for a far superior product for the price of a sandwich makes no sense.
