Is There a Comparable AMD Graphics Card to the NVIDIA GTX 1080?

As the title states, I want to know if AMD has a competitor to the NVIDIA GTX 1080 yet or just around the corner perhaps. I am looking to assemble a new PC as I have an Oculus Rift waiting to be used and I absolutely want buttery smooth 60FPS while gaming so I don't get motion sickness, etc.

Thanks!

Vega the new card is coming later, Oct to Mars timeframe.
for VR the radeon duo with two gpu chip might be a comparable card for VR.

if you game without VR then atm the 1080 is the better option.

Due to the pricing of $1500 being double the price of the GTX1080, I don't think that is a reasonable option. The Vega cards seem potentially interesting but won't come out until sometime in 2017. So I guess the answer is that currently there is nothing that really competes against the GTX 1080. I am not a fan-boy for either team as I generally go best price/performance and am running AMD GPU in my current rig. But, right now I see NVIDIA is outshining AMD.
