1440p 144Hz from 4k 60fps Is it a downgrade? - Page 2

+1 for another person who went from 4K to 1440p for the high refresh rate.

got a 40" korean 4K monitor and used it for a bit, but after getting a taste of the ultra fast response and smoothness of 144Hz, there's no way i can go back.

Even when 4K gets to 120Hz and i even have the gpu power to run it, it would need to be a large format display (40"+) in order for me to see a reason to buy it. I can't stand windows scaling and i have too many programs i use that will never support it. I still use the 40" 4K for some games and productivity due to the real estate, but i don't need high refresh rate for that. (ex. FFX HD which is locked at 30fps anyways. Looks so beautiful on the 40" 4K)

I think i'll be sticking with 1440p 144Hz for a long while. 27" screen is a perfect size for 1440p as far as scaling goes. I also have two 15.4" 1440x900 laptop panels in portrait mode on each side to use for random stuff like teamspeak or when i'm following a game walkthrough. Still no PLP support from nvidia though :/ and its just more of a pain to get to work than it's worth.

Also gain UMLB for superb motion clarity if you can maintain between 100fps and 120fps. Light Boost is currently not available for any monitors above 2560x1440.

Okay I think I am going to switch over to 1440p 144, I play a lot of csgo and it would definitely be worth it. The only problem is actually selling this monitor tongue.gif

Its a matter of opinion. I have a 49" 4k monitor (not tv) with freesync, screen size plays a major role in my tastes. So for me even thougg i would gain 144hz, i would be forced to use a tiny screen (no go). So for me it would be a big downgrade, for others maybe not
