Hi all, cleaning my loop and find this inside of the first waterblock I've checked:

Should I be concerned? Originally I thought it was algae but it doesn't come off easily. Also it seems to be orange underneath...

Looks like bad plating. Might wanna contact support and get it replaced.

Ah crap frown.gif

Is it just ugly or actually damaged? I don't want to have no PC for weeks, ya know?

That appears that nickel flaked off exposing the copper. I would contact EK. I don't recall the specifics, but I do know that they had a run of bad plating. They may replace it for you without a hassle.

Thanks for the input guys. I for now am opting to use it because I don't want to rma.

Upon reseating I noticed that the waterblock is at a ~1* angle with the board. Is this ok? I'm guessing the mounting screws are not perfectly aligned as I had to assist them just to get the waterblock to slide over all four.

Edit: re mounted and it's straight now. Only reason I was unsure is that it's on a 1080 now, previously a 290.
