[EuroGamer] Nintendo NX is a portable console with detachable controllers + powered by Nvidia Tegra technology - Page 23

Well I just might eat crow. Latest rumors are saying Nintendo is going with the upcoming X2 chip.

If they are going for X2 then it is highly likely that in handheld mode it is aggressively downclocked in order to have good battery life. When it is attached to the dock it can go back to normal clocks and you'll have a console machine that is almost as good as if not better than the Xbox One.

I highly doubt the X2 chip won't see the same level of jump all the other GPUs have gotten now compared to Maxwell. The NX could be really good.

I agree. I think if they use the X2, many people will have severely underestimated the NX's graphics capabilities. And if the rumors of a ~$199 launch price are true, the sales numbers will be insane.

I wonder if this is why there isn't much of anything for slated releases for the 3ds.

An NX with a Tegra X2 from $199 - $249 is an instant buy for me and likely anyone that's on the fence. Having that level of performance for third parties plus Nintendo's entire development team on a single platform is like a dream.

NX is middling product considered as Wii U's successor, but really exciting when considered as 3DS successor. I wouldn't mind having one console that plays all of Nintendo games instead of having separate home and handheld consoles.

Well, being someone who's followed AMD for years, I've learned to expect to be disappointed lol. All these rumors and claims and people building hype without knowing much of anything about it.

I only just now bought a 3ds. I'll likely do the same with the NX, wait a while to see how it fares before touching it. I did the same with the Wii U, guess what I didn't buy. System has what, like 3 games worth playing?

There will always be something to support your disappointment even if it's not the case. 290X perfect card for the time but stock cooler suck and power consumption was not amazing. If you chose to be disappointed on the card you bring those things to the top of the list. If a card is too expensive you chose that as a reason. If a card does not have all the memory you pick that. If the card is not fast enough etc etc. You will never get more then what you pay for.

i see 249.99 MINIMUM, given Nintendo,s past track record unlike Sony or MS Nintendo REFUSES to lose a penny on the hardware of their Systems
