FreeSync second monitor with GSync primary?

Thread Starter
Kind of an odd question, but I am wondering if I will get any issues with buying a second monitor that happens to have FreeSync, but my primary display has GSync.

My primary display is this:
https://www.amazon.com/Acer-XB270HU-bprz-27-inch-Widescreen/dp/B00UPVXDA8

And I am considering buying this:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824009910
Because it looks similar, and still allows for adjusting to portrait mode.

You will have no problems, however you will be wasting your money buying a monitor with Freesync when you don't have an AMD graphics card to get any benefits from it.

There are other Acer monitors that look similar and are also of the same size and resolution. Id just pick up a 27 inch 1440p 60hz screen as a secondary if i were you. I have my XB270HU paired up with a K272HUL

For me, I am very OCD and would like my monitors to look the same. I also did not want to send $750 on another XB270HU. The monitor I linked is the smallest that looks like it, while at the same time offering a swivel to make it portrait mode. I was just unsure if the AMD Freesync would conflict with my NVidia Gsync primary monitor and NVidia cards. Thanks for the info!

Interesting option in the K272HUL, but it doesn't look like it can turn 90deg to portrait, which is a desired feature for me, since with my XB270HU, part of my current 2nd monitor is cut off from my view with my current setup.

You can always use the VESA mount to get the portrait function. But I know the cost of the secondary monitor will now be much higher adding in the cost of a monitor arm on top of a more expensive monitor. But if you really have OCD on your monitors, wouldn't the difference in size and especially the difference in resolution drive you crazy? I hated it when I had my VG248QE as my secondary monitor and moving items back and fourth between the two so I had to make sure both of my monitors are of the same size and resolution.

Not really tbh. On dual/tri monitor setups, I never move windows between monitors, they always stay on their respective monitors. I only use my second for web pages, voip programs, etc.

I had thought about getting a VESA mount, but the ASUS monitors I have right now have the base basically as a part of the monitor frame, so I'd need to do some hefty destroying of the monitor to get the base off, which I'd rather not do and just relegate them to my laptops for permanent use.
