Hi All,

I have been considering starting my own computer case company for quite some time now. It has been a back and forth thing in my mind because it will definitely take money (duh) to get moving on it and get prototypes made etc. I have my own design in my mind, but wanted to reach out and ask you lovely people if there is anything that you have wanted to see in a case design that you never have, or multiple things you've seen in many different cases that you would love to see all in one case - any form factor is an option. My current design I have in mind is a Mid ATX or Full depending on what I finally decide would be best, but your suggestions could be things you would like to see in certain form factors or in general (please specify if possible).

Thanks and I look forward to hearing from you all!

I voted ATX Full, but I think you should release two cases simultaneously, the ATX Full for the enthusiast crowd and the mATX / cube for the compact / minimalist crowd. I think these are two of the main purchasers of cases that aren't your standard tower to get the job done, could be wrong tho tongue.gif.

And I reckon go straight for the high end of the market tongue.gif

Anyway, great work on pushing forwards with your own company. It should be a good ride no matter what happens.

I have always been a mid tower kinda guy so I went with that.

Good luck!

Voted the itx form factor because I started with it and wouldn't ever have a bigger case than a mATX form factor... But yes, as others have suggested, if you can, try to propose two form factor cases... I think an ATX and a mATX will answer some needs, but on the other side, a radical itx approach might give you a name even if it's not a best-seller...

My two eurocents 😁

Right now the market is so saturated with cases you need to do something new. With that said, study the case market, look at sites like pc part picker and check the ones with the most ratings, check forums case club threads and such things. You'll quickly see that the market is big. I personally own 17 cases and have 3 scratch built in my workshop along with 3-4 designs I've never done.

Ask @Jeffinslaw for tips, he might be a good ressource for this.

What I dream of: a variation of the DANcase A4sfx, aircooled mini ITX case, but with the depth for a short ATX psu (150mm max). It would leave more height for a cpu cooler.

Or the same configuration, but in a 20L mini tower so you could actually use the space in the bottom as a pedestal for a monster radiator or a dual 240mm rad...

I have weird dreams.

I had created this, with a short PSU and short GPU, you could fit almost any radiator. smile.gif

Oohh, got any link? I'm planning a mini-itx in my head that I won't probably ever do, but it never hurts to get ideas 😁

@BA Tech: as others have said, make something that stands out, as there's a lot of standard atx case out there...
Then I can't help you. Maybe look in your region or in China if someone can prototype and/or produce your ideas?

So, this is what it looked like, I forgot to post pictures. You can put almost anything up to 240mm radiators. It's about 14L total.

Awesome thanks for the input. If there are any specific love/hate things you have seen from cases in the market currently that you would like to see us include/disclude from the case(s) please share, always love another perspective.

I think it will be a good ride for sure, even if it doesn't get very far, it will be fun putting everything together.
