My second R9 295x2 went bad

Thread Starter
So I have two R9 295x2 (AMD reference cards) running in crossfire yesterday when my PC shut down suddenly. After troubleshooting I found out that whatever my second card is plug in (with two 8 pin power cables) my PC will not start. There is a red light on my ATX 1500i.
The card seems to be fine while both power cables are disconnected and the power is coming from pci slot, i can see the card memory fan is sniping. I moved the card in the main PCI slot (where my other R9 295x2 is working fine and still experienced the same issue...

What could get bad? Power, water pump or something else?mad.gif

Sounds like the card is dead, how specifically i dont know and that requires harder looking into with the board, what company did you buy it from? i know warranty claims are hard at this point especially if the warranty is out but it is worth a try, otherwise it would require checking the board much closer in to troubleshoot.

I've had that similar problemand I found out that the R9 295x2 this report is for eating power supplies and throwing the power grid on the motherboard mine personally went to 2 power supplies and 2 motherboards in about a year and a halfit draws more power from PCI express then you think and I dare not daisychain the cards together

When you mention the card on the first slot, the other card is connected also? As in, did you try to power up with only this card?
