Finally a gaming rig, weird teleport lag?

finally got a Gaming rig, windows 10, and I am getting really annoying teleport lag where for instance characters skip around the screen in front of runing smoothly left to right, its not a frame rate issue. Problems in Hawken/L4D2, other FPS games. Example here (watch beginning of video) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xxOTEkn9Mqo

I can provide any info needed to help figure this out! Thanks!!! EDIT: my specs in sig are out dated i cant figure out how to change

If it's multiplayer, then that's lag. If it's singleplayer, then I don't know.

50mbps cable internet from RCN, pings in games are average 30-50 ping and sometimes jump super high for a second. like 300-400. I am in new york city, servers are in new jersey for most of the games i tested. weird thing is, i have been gaming on WIFI for many years never had these problems, maybe its my computer, or maybe this router i got recently ( a pretty high end Asus A/C Router) will test on my old laptop now

Sounds like Lag. It could also be the other persons LAG and not yours. Some games show people teleporting around when they are laggy.

Although I don't know what WiFi adapter you're using, in my experience I have had a wide range of performance issues with various WiFi adapters, particularly USB and some cheaper PCIe ones.

I think its either windows 10 issue or my desktop's wifi adapter because my older windows 7 laptop does not have these lag issues on the same network

I'm running the TP-LINK Archer T9E, I've had really good success with it. I'm on a different floor than my router. I'm also on Windows 10.

I am going to pick up a new adapter, I looked up yours and there is an almost identical model, just the AC1300 version instead of 1900. It should be fine right? Since my router is AC1200 I don't need to get yours specifically? (yours is 1900)

I've never had lag cause that for me but I've had a similar experience with heat in the past, causing me to skip around and lag like that in the past.
It was due to an improperly seated CPU cooler. It wouldn't hurt to check your temperatures under load if you already haven't.

Either unit will do fine, you won't notice a difference unless you're running something like Google Fiber.

You can edit your rig by going to profile -> scroll down to your rigs -> create or edit it by hovering your mouse over the rig's icon
