First Vertical Gaming Mouse

As far as I know this is the first Vertical mouse ever with a pixart 3366 sensor..

After trying vertical, you really begin to see the tremendous flaw of turning one's wrist so deeply to hold a regular horizontal mouse..

I've been using this particular vertical mouse for 4 days total thus far, and came to the conclusion that, There is no going back..

Since there are no commercially available vertical mouse with a good sensor, it was necessary to splice..

Materials Required:

1____ 23/24 awg solid copper wire.

2____ Twist ties to mount base to pcb

3____ USB 2.0 Hub (full speed), @ least 2 ports..... $4 ebay

4____ Nanokk, Evoluent mouse Knockoff, (perfect shape clone)..... $20 ebay

5____ Logitech G303........ $24 amazon sale

6____ 1 set of WMO Hyperglides.....

Do not buy the official Evoluent for $80, it costs more and it is much harder to mod, because of the flat ribbon cables.. Ontop of the fact that we're mainly just chopping it up for the SHELL. biggrin.gif

Make sure to Cover the Lens while you work on the mouse.. Don't wanna melt the lens via stray solder.

The Nanokk uses a mechanical wheel encoder, whereas the logitech uses an optical system.

This is the reason why you need a hub to preserve the wheel functionality. This is essentially 2 mouse in 1.. running in parallel.

The reason there are so many extra cables in the later picture, is because all the buttons with the exception of the wheel-up, wheel-down, are wired to the G303. The G303 has much lower click/button latency vs other mice.. You can skip this step to keep things more simple, but then WHY DO IT, if you're not going to go all the way..

The mouse weighs 135 Grams in this configuration.. Can be lightened, by sacrificing wheel functionality.. dropping 2 extra pcbs.. (it won't be much lighter 10-15g)..

The USB pin out label on the Nanokk PCB has DM and DP flipped.. VCC and G is correct

Vertical mouse is the way to go regarding wrist comfort. Keen on making a similar one, based on Anker and maybe a s3668 (would save the struggle with mouse wheel compatibility).

Unsure how the shape would play out with fast flicks, though. Quite used to symmetrical shape at the moment.

Don't worry about the shape.. brain automatically Adapts given some time.. .. hahahaha, // I mean , this has happened with EVERY SINGLE new mouse we've EVER GOTTEN, NO ?

There are some distinct differences.. You have to hit the button like a GUN, pinch to click rather than push against your wrist-rotating.. Because if you click the button like you normally would on a flat mouse, the vertical mouse will turn ever so slightly..

I don't think any PCB will fit inside the Anker..

Overall, I've tried every single vertical mouse on the market, the Evoluent type shape is the most comfortable and Most Vertical.. but this is up in the air, you may like the anker better..

But, I know for sure it will not fit in the anker shark fin looking mouse.. they also have a slightly bigger vertical mouse, different model, which mayy fit.

But I am NOT using an Evoluent, that piece of **** is $80, with terrible tracking..

This mod uses an Evoluent Clone from ebay for the Shell and wheel, and the G303 for everything else, the Nanokk $20 incidentally, the Nanokk has a better sensor than the Evoluent.
