Asus Crosshair V Formula - Error Code FF

Hello, so today when I went to boot my PC on I turned it on and logged in, and within about 30 seconds of it booting it then black screened. I tried to restart the PC and to do this had to turn the PSU off. When I tried to turn it on again it again black screened.

I have read a little online about the FF error code and attempted a few of the steps, the most promising one was removing the CMOS battery for 10 mins and then put it back in. After doing this I was able to boot into the bios, after changing the date and time in the bios I went to boot into Windows and as it began to boot into Windows it crashed again giving me the FF error message.

Any suggestions on what could be the cause of this or any solutions would be greatly appreciated, as I'm currently drawing a blank due to it letting me boot then crashing again while booting to windows. I'm just really unsure on what it could be, because I've been able to access the bios then it happens when booting into windows but I've read the FF is a hardware fault...

And advice would be greatly appreciated

Thanks

That is a bit puzzling.

Any recent changes, driver updates etc?

What psu are you running?

EDIT: I peeked at the picture of your sig rig , HX 1000 should be good.

If you do a bios recovery and it still gives FF code, check all hardware seating. The board is known to hang on the FF error and never recover. Worst case RMA the board.

I had the FF code boot loop on one of my CHV-Z's that wasn't recoverable, but it would never start windows when that happened. RMA'd it and so far it seems to be doing ok.

After checking all of the PSU cables and swapping the ram out, i reset the CMOS using the button on the motherboard a couple of times and was able to boot into the OS without any issues. I'm not really sure what the issue was but I just reset it like 2 or 3 times and it seemed to work without any issues. I have now stripped the system down and am going to test the components on my test bench to see if i can find any hardware that could be causing the issue.
