Hold up, what's going on here, then? Why are the Sapphire cards almost 20fps faster at 1080p than the reference RX 480? The release notes of the Crimson 16.7.3 driver show there's a performance uplift compared to older drivers, but we didn't expect this much. This is the only game affected in the transition between drivers, and it feels as if it's been 'Vulkanised'.

Is that for all AMD cards or just polaris ? Becuase I'm seeing a Fury X behind the AIB RX 480 or did they just test the RX 480 with the new drivers ?

They stated that the RX 480 specifically receives a 10% boost under RotTR. So it's only that card.

Suddenly they are 18 fps faster.... And so the gap between the 1060 and RX 480 starts to shrink within a month of release.

By the way. They don't state whether that's DX11 or DX12 in that Hexus review...

Might as well have. 1-2 fps difference at 1440p;

Difference is higher at 1080p, likely due to some CPU bottleneck still. GameWorks titles are always a pain. That it has the DX12 label obviously doesn't mean anything in this title, since it's programmed exactly like DX11 still. I hope someone tests this under DX11 also. If it's the same gain, we'll know that it's a direct DX11 to DX12 port without any significant improvement.

No I don't and I would like to see the numbers for all new cards not just 480s.

All that shows is what a joke RotTR is from an optimization point of view.. It's heavily slanted towards Nvidia, there is no way the 970 is in the same class as a Fury X, and yet it beats the Fury X by over 10fps.. It's nowhere near PCars GimpWorks level, but it's definitely in the damn running that's for sure..

Having said all that, whoever enjoys Action/Adventure should without a doubt pick it up, it's a great game. thumb.gif
