Not to be rude but why is this news, or even relevant?

Just for giggles?

I don't get the point to this kind of comparison, is it to make 980Ti feel better IF the new gen was running at same frequency or if their 980Ti could OC to 1.7-2Ghz, which they can't, not for 24/7 and gaming anyway. rolleyes.gif

It's to see what direction they chose to take the Pascal architecture.

haters gona hate. Reason this card sold so well is because it's a solid 30% faster then 980ti. If you can't get one gota justify it somehow with some research and youtube vids. Don't forget to cherry pick the benchmarks either.

It's just an investigation of the clock for clock performance between the two architectures, did any of you even watch the video?
Well its just stupid. The 980Ti has quite a lot more CUDA cores, so whats the point in comparing? Same clockspeed doesnt matter.
980 vs 1070 would have been far better comparison. 980Ti has 256 more cores n 32 more ROPs, of course it will perform better in same clock speed.

He said that the 1080 suffered more from a performance impact due to shadowplay, and that the fps was different compared the the benchmark fps.
