If it wasn't for AMD pushing Mantle, they wouldn't be used in a long while. nVidia would love to stick with DX11 forever.

These threads....
they're the best hahahahahaha.

Thread about a 980ti vs a 1080 and here they are blabbering about Fiji, VLIW4/5 whatever it is, butthurts, tears, GCN, HD6xxx series.

I feel this test is just some sort of confirmation to the Paxwell idea, I think it's been known for quite a while that Pascal is basically what Maxwell should've been, so it's Maxwell with the features they stripped out, added back in and maybe some tweaks (async compute).

Accept it and move on.

Captain here: 6870 is vliw5 and nice try, btw.

Thanks for the correction. I loved my 6870 for the five years I used it, definitely got my use out of it.

Pascal does not have Async compute which in its current definition means Async shaders. Throughout the demonstration they reference Preemption everywhere. It can only perform Async Compute in VR, not in 3D.

Yes, I know. If you would read my posts first, you'd come to the realization that I already noted on the conflicting evidence thereof. The irony is how they could have tested Fury X with 4GB VRAM at the nightmare settings that require 5GB...

You can force nightmare settings on any GPU with a command line. It will not fair well on 4GB cards though, including the Fury and Fury X on Vulkan. The gap they have over even Pascal on Ultra settings is completely gone in Nightmare due to VRAM limitation.
