Its nothing compared to the profit they get from the card.

First of all this lawsuit is only valid for US.

Second of all, very few out of all that got the 970, will apply for damages. Mostly it will be those who got in on the lawsuit.

In total we are talking a very small minor hit for Nvidia which they will hardly notice

It says preliminary.

Anyone who bought these cards for 4k should be more concerned with why they bought them in the first place.

Because it was an inexpensive way to get my foot in the door with Nvidia and 4K when I had to also buy a expensive gsync monitor. I felt one 980 wasn't enough and didn't have the money or rationalize to buy two 980's + a gsync monitor.

4GB is slim I'll agree (3.5GB even worse) but has been just enough with my fury which is close to 980Ti performance @ 2160. I've been gaming just fine, just not at 60 FPS average yet. It'll be a year with no issues in November.

I bought around 90 cards off amazon US ,and resold them in my country. I have invoice for each card to prove it.

I'd like to point out that you aren't even including an example to go along with your statement.

Your signature reads: "I hate fanboys/fangirls. You ruin the friendly atmosphere of OCN."

The only irony here is that you're here "ruining the friendly atmosphere of OCN" to call me a fanboy, when I'm anything but.

The chip itself has one less memory controller, which means it could not use the full 4GB because of internal design. Because of their design flaw, it was impossible to have those 0.5GB run at full performance, so the card have 3.5GB of fast memory, and 0.5GB of slow memory which nvidia used in order to store some data, unless run at 4K, in which case the card performance took a small dive.

1. Go ahead, you can say Nvidia lied. Their action already agrees with that. Also, you still get to keep the money.
2. Can you show any examples where Nvidia stated they're using that .5GB to store data ?
3. "Small" seems to be an understatement when the card seems to start stuttering even at 1080p if a game starts to use more VRAM

Not a problem for them - they'll just raise the price of their next lineup by another $30 a card, to cover this ...

Why are some people defending a company that blatantly lied about its products. I find it very strange. Shouldn't we as consumers think about ourselves first and brand allegiances after?

If a person bought a 970 he/she was shortchanged and will be compensated due to a robust judiciary. But if Nvidia had it their way, do you really think you'd get that compensation? But this isn't applicable around the world so technically Nvidia still gets away with it.
