I doubt that. Not many of those 970 buyers even know about the memory issue; let alone this lawsuit.

Nvidia is just in a perfect position to raise prices for no real reason. Right now they are only competiting with themselves, so they can do whatever they want right now unfortunately.

I bought mine off craigslist.....curious if I can get that $30 tongue.gif will make my 970 Strix cost only $170 (6 months ago lol)

i agree with everything you said except 4gb for free is nothing to scoff at.

nvidia made people pay for .5gb of useless memory

Those 0.5GB were in there. The card has physically 4GB as advertised.
The chip itself has one less memory controller, which means it could not use the full 4GB because of internal design. Because of their design flaw, it was impossible to have those 0.5GB run at full performance, so the card have 3.5GB of fast memory, and 0.5GB of slow memory which nvidia used in order to store some data, unless run at 4K, in which case the card performance took a small dive.

Actually it makes sense tbh.
They have never taken that route before, and people have been very criticising them for bringing a "founders edition" at a higher price, causing MSPR to take a sky rocket on everything.

It could be that the founders edition, is limited to the start, in order to cover some of the cost the 970 debacle is going to cost them. Once it is covered, they can go back to a normal MSPR pricing without going with silly versions.

Bought two myself when they 1st released in prep for 4K gsync monitor. They can keep the $60. I already switched to AMD. Too little to late for me. Nitro Fury running adaptive sync 4K now waiting for Vega.

Truly a man of principle, I salute you.

I think it wasn't really a mistake after I bought the GTX 970, because it was the only available card in my local store, during my purchase. Also I mainly game at 1080p.

I wonder if I am eligible with that 30$, as I live outside USA.

Any news on that?
