The EVGA SuperNova G2/P2 or the Corsair RMx are your best options.

What would be a appropriate power supply? 750 W? 850 W? I'm not thinking of doing SLI anytime soon. Unless the prices of the GTX 970 drop to 200$ I won't buy another graphic card to pair with this one.

You dont need more then a good 400 watt PSU for a GTX 970.
But since those are way overpriced a 550 watt is more reasonable in price

Thats for a single card but if you are looking to add another a good 650 watt is more then enough.

If you can afford to build a completely new system, buy a Xeon to drop into your current build and make it your work at home PC.

i know what you mean!

But if it were to go pear shaped, x58 m/b were not so easy to get at one stage , were also pricey! thumb.gif
