Question about Zowie FK series

I had a zowie fk2. it was the pre-benq version. i wanted a new one as mine was 2 years old. i also decided to try the zowie fk1 (benq edition). when it unboxed it, i insantly realised the scroll wheel was not the same. it was depressed farther into the mouse and i could only scroll it 3-5 times a scroll instead of 7-9 times as i could with the fk2, so im thinking that zowie only increased the size of the mouse but is using the same scrollwheel, making it very small in proportion. or maybe it is just that the benq edition has made their scroll wheels more depressed on both versions. if i buy the fk2 from benq will the scrollwheel still be depressed into the mouse or will it be extruded like the previous version?

They changed the scroll wheel from your typical 24-notch to a 16-notch. Interestingly enough, the very early Zowies were 16-notch.

As far as the height, I'm not aware of any changes there.

On both the FK2 pre-benq and the FK1 benq edition, if the wheel had done a complete 360 degree spin they both had 16 notches. I am saying that the benq edition fk had the wheel more depressed into the mouse and the gap was tighter, making me only able to scroll about half of the normal amount

This might not be a model to model discrepancy so much as a unit to unit one. I had two ZA12s that had different feeling wheels. My FK1 and ZA11 also had very different feeling wheels. FK1 felt the mushiest among them. Not sure if the scroll wheels are meant to feel different between models, but from what I experienced with the ZA12 I'd guess that might not be the case.
