So candy crush can't be blocked with GPOs anymore? IT folks are gonna love that...

You are not alone.
I tried 10 early on a machine that wasn't being used and knew within a couple of hours that I didn't like it or trust it.
Just before the "free upgrade" expired, I loaded a copy onto a spare drive just in case ms decided to kill or cripple 7 early. It was to live in a drawer until absolutely needed. Then I saw this latest move they made, and even though my copy wasn't an enterprise edition, I said screw it and reformatted that drive and loaded yet another version of Linux to try out.
I don't see ms changing their ways and even if they did, I would not be able to trust them. So, when win 7 finally dies, so does my time with ms. I'm not a gamer by definition, so that wont affect me. I'll miss photoshop as I really don't like gimp, but it is what it is.

So, when win 7 finally dies

Barring some sort of "kill switch" windows update there's not much they can do.

That's exactly what I was referring to. All it takes is starting to not support certain devices or programs in the updates or even making the update process more painful than it already is to make the system non attractive or useable. Planned obsolescence, only accelerated.

And are AMD users upgrading to Win 10 in droves? If not, you might want to reconsider blaming people like me for nVidia dragging their feet.

Whoa @sherlock just came out of left field on that one. Vulkan is already showing that AMD can stay on Windows 7. Obviously, some characters need a little more dimensions than just black and white.

Google can't have secret projects, everything in development leaks over there(I can't even name one thing they released recently that was not leaked before launch). Their project is to run Android app on Chrome OS, not really something that interfere with Windows 10.
