Uh

But i have a gts250 1gb that still run lot of recent game. Including bf3

Sure at 720p

Kinda impressed.
Direct x support killed that gpu.

So yea if those maxwell dont get direct x12 update they are already worthless.

That gpu is in reality a gtx 9800.

Dated to 2008

10 years old almost and still running biggrin.gif. Asus engsts250 dark knight editiin

If you're afraid that Nvidia is gonna gimp your GPU, then backup the version of drivers you think is best and never update.
I think by gimping most mean no longer updating, rather than releasing drivers that cripple performance that was already there. Which after 2 years is absurd. But you know, you'll perpetually be seeing defeatists (ones that say it comes with the territory of the tech world) and apologists (the ones agreeing with Nvidia's decision) defending them to no end, hence the cycle will continue.

I knew my 980ti would end up this way but this quick? Nvidia sure are quick this time around when it comes to gimping last-gen cards!

I'm going to go out and buy a 1080 now!

remember when people complained about amd drivers?

isn't hitman an AMD focused title though? I know that for the vast majority of games, even a GTX 970 beats a R9 290X.

If you look at AMD's power usage, they're in trouble.....they can't release anything approaching GTX 1080 territory without being in the 300w range....which is pretty much PC gaming no mans zone.

AMD has leveraged async compute with a few titles.....but pascal pretty much addresses that. And to be fair, Maxwell had leverage for far longer than the leverage R9 is having with a few titles. So on balance, Nvidia still comes out on top.

Well, you have to paint a strong image

This is the news section after all. Facts and logical discussions are unwanted while flaming dominates the discussion.

In a sense it is kind of like America's presidential campaigns.

Dear people, the simple solution to this problem with nVidia dumping their GPU's within months of release is simply to go out and buy the next best nVidia card. HJH (correct way of writing his name in Chinese as surnames go first) will be more than happy to use your generous donations to buy more leather jackets, pay out more 30 USD in lol class action suits that go nowhere, buy another few mansions and a bunch of politicians (traitors is the correct term).

Knowing after Kepler that this was going to happen basically immediately after release of their next generation many went out and bought nVidia anyway. Thus the correct saying is: Fools and their money, fools and their money.

While I sit here and game on this 290 that cost me 150 USD less than the cheapest 970 I constantly watch my power use skyrocket, every time I turn my PC on, because I certainly don't have a fridge, AC, speakers, screen, fans, light bulbs, a TV (actually I don't have a TV because I hate them) or any other electrical items in the house. This 290, which will be finally equal to a 970 by the time I replace it in four years, is what's going to bankrupt me.

But yeah, there's absolutely no excuse for them to not to optimize Maxwell along with Pascal, unless it's Pascal specific stuff which is mostly related to DX12 and VR anyway.

As long as people continue having ADD and fall over themselves to buy the next best thing nVidia spew out they will continue to do this, which proves they are masochistic. Knowing they will get raped by nVidia every step of the way they continue in their stockholm syndrome and make excuses for their abuser, then claim some pathetic 30 USD in a class action suit, which has already been accounted for in their next release.
