Is it though?
Almost everything you own will have been made in China or at least the constituent parts will have been, so are you saying that everything you own is low quality?
Anyway, if a Chinese company buys out Micron and ships production out of the US then NAND prices will fall due to the lower production costs, I see this as a positive especially considering that the likelihood of NAND quality falling is highly unlikely as a result of the takeover.

PLUS theres the nasty habit China has of carrying not a bit about personal privacy and back-dooring everything they can for unrestricted government access and control. Sure there's a ton of conspiracy about this happening with other governments in the 1st World, but China lives that way daily... and has for a long time... they operate more under 'my people exist to serve the government', instead of 'this government exists to serve the people'.

Not that we have a say in it, but man do I hope Micro doesn't get bought out by China.

I lolled hard at this tripe. The NSA were caught installing back doors in Cisco routers... Blame it on China!!

Considering 80% of the worlds goods are made in China you better be prepared to throw everything you have away.

James Madison explained it all in one very simple sentence:

Patent laws have too much of the worlds money going to America. Cost should take the priority for every nation. Sounds like a future war or something could be triggered out of it.

Hardly true for high end stuff. And actually most of their in house designs are pretty good but manufacturing and QC is usually a bunch of people that aren't properly trained.

Quality Control stickers are generally applied without a single test. Soldering and assembly is usually done by unskilled labour by hand. (And yes this can have deathly consequences when one of those know nothing cheap country side workers solders a live wire to the device chassis)

I own a couple of China gadgets and they are well designed. I have a Xiaomi Mi4C and it's a blast the value is incredible 109 euros for such specs. (I didn't have to pay customs for some reason otherwise it would've been 40 euros more) The downside was the bootloader was locked and I actually had to apply for a unlock which was granted but then didn't work. (I ended up just going into recovery mode flashing an old rom then unlock the bootloader manually and install TWRP recovery software)

The other device I have is a GPD XD I think this device is really well built it's controls are good the shoulder buttons are really nice and it can play many emulator games just fine. Really well engineered.

The difference is that the Chinese gov't has tenancies to have an agenda that is more disturbing than the American gov't. Namely the jailing of political dissidents, journalists, human rights activists, with little to no explanation why except for "they promote ideas that are harmful to the public".

Hell, one of the times I've been to China, I went the wikipedia page for the Tienanmen massacre, and lost all internet connection for about 30 min. Did it to two other devices and the same thing happened. Not a coincidence.

The high profile political dissidents and whistleblowers in the united states recently have all had to flee the country or get thrown in jail.

And if you're going whine about chinas human rights record I suggest you look at the body count racked up in the middle east by america in the last 15 years. Seriously. It is the height of hypocrisy for you americans to lecture anyone else in the world on human rights or privacy.

We can pull points from history showing humans of any nation being just as hypocritical. I'm not sure where you are from because I am on mobile, but it probably wouldn't be hard to find an instance of atrocities.

Every nation in the world that is capable will abuse information collection for their betterment. For political, economical, or otherwise. Unless the whole world adopts a Swiss mindset, which I highly doubt. Conflict brings change.
