Hi,

I just saw some reviews for the two cards to know which card is better to buy but I saw one card is faster in some games and the other is faster in some other games !! so I am confused and I can not decide, please give me your opinion in the two cards with advantages or disadvantages

Thanks

480 8Gb
+ More RAM, meaning can CrossFire and will play newer games
+ Great Vulkan performance
+ Good Dx12 performance
+ Good price/performance ratio
- Not so good Dx11 performance

480 4Gb
- Enough RAM for today's games, but not enough for CrossFire or future games
+ Great Vulkan performance
+ Good Dx12 performance
+ Great price/performance ratio
- Not so good Dx11 performance
+ Dirt cheap.
UPDATE:
- Reduced clocks compared to 8Gb

1060 6Gb
+ Enough RAM for today's games, and arguably enough for future games
- Not so good Vulkan performance
- Not so good Dx12 perfromance, but may get better
+ Good-ish price/performance ratio
+ Good Dx11 performance

1060 3Gb
- No. Just no.

Essentially you can't go wrong unless you buy that last misunderstanding smile.gif

I think the 1060 is priced wrong, just doesn't seem worth it to me. I'm in the market for a new GPU too and I'm heavily leaning towards the 480. Imo it's only worth considering the 6GB and 8GB models also.

While that is true, 1060 has better Dx11 performance, and the topic here is 480 vs 1060 pros and cons, so in the context, 480 doesn't have top Dx11 performance.

5% or so gap in some DX11 games doesnt mean it "top" DX11 performance. indeed with newer drivers it can get at similar performance or better, if you dont account the bandwidth bottleneck

AMD have made it clear that they are through with optimizing for Dx11 and I support them in that decision, future is Vulkan / Dx12

Don't forget AMD drivers tend to get better over time and nvidia has possibly gimped drivers in the past to force you to upgrade. People still trip over themselves trying to snatch used 290's, I think the 480 will be the same way down the road.
