Intel 6600K QPI ring clock frequency question.

Thread Starter
I have a i5 6600K CPU and I was wondering what my QPI link should be set at. I know default it is x35 QPI, with a x35 multiplier

And my CPU can run stable at 4,600Mhz frequency with a QPI at 4,600Mhz. @1.325 volts

But, my CPU will run stable as high as 4.9Ghz at 1.435 Volts with my QPI link at AUTO or, x35 ring clock.

But, when I set my QPI to x49, and my multiplier at x49 the system is unstable and will crash.

Does it really affect system performance if I run at lower ring clock than my CPU frequency?

Here is what i have achieved so far

x47 CPU and X47 QPI stable

X49 CPU and X47 QPI stable

X46 CPU and X47 QPI stable

I can boot in to windows at 5Ghz, but I am really pushing my cooling to the limits pegging around 95C in intel burn test with 1.5 volts

So I assume the most important is the multiplier being the highest with the least possible voltage. And the QPI link does not matter? is default speeds ok?

No the performance of the computer won't be noticeably impacted by a lower uncore clock than the core clock.
